At the U.S. Naval Base Atsugi in Kanagawa Prefecture, the military and Japanese police conducted a joint training exercise on the 14th based on the scenario of a helicopter making an emergency landing.

The training was held at the Atsugi Air Base in Kanagawa Prefecture, and approximately 120 people participated, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the US military, Japanese police, and local governments in case an aircraft accident occurs.

The training was conducted under the assumption that shortly after a U.S. Navy helicopter took off from Atsugi Air Base, engine trouble occurred and the helicopter crash-landed in a field in the prefecture.

First, a police officer rushed to the helicopter in a patrol car, interviewed the crew about the situation, and then shared information via radio with related organizations such as the fire department and local government.

After this, the U.S. military personnel who arrived at the scene consulted with the police to decide where to set up the restriction lines, and then they confirmed procedures for smooth cooperation, such as jointly inspecting the scene. Ta.

The Kanagawa Prefectural Police Headquarters said, ``We have mutually confirmed that Japan and the United States can demonstrate a quick and accurate initial response, and we hope to continue training in the future.''
