It has been revealed that Tottori City Hospital in Tottori City received a correction recommendation from the Labor Standards Inspection Office last year for failing to pay overtime wages to nurses and other workers. The hospital has paid the full amount to 298 people, including doctors, for unpaid amounts.

According to Tottori City Hospital, in July last year, the Tottori Labor Standards Inspection Office investigated computer usage records within the hospital and found that nurses and administrative staff were paid overtime even though they worked outside of regular working hours. It was discovered that this was not the case and a recommendation was made to correct it.

Afterwards, the hospital conducted interviews within the hospital and found that in addition to nurses and administrative staff, doctors and others worked outside of working hours from March to June last year. The company paid a total of 20.87 million yen in overtime pay.

Things that were not reported as working hours included time for doctors to discuss treatment plans for patients, and time for nurses to prepare patient charts.

The hospital has introduced a new attendance management system, making it possible to accurately grasp work status without relying on voluntary declarations.

Tottori City Hospital commented, ``We would like to handle overtime work appropriately in accordance with the law.''
