While fleeing from the police, a drunk driver rammed a patrol car. Officials wanted to check the 33-year-old from Poland late on Tuesday evening in Neubrandenburg when he fled, the police said.

The police pursued the fugitive through several streets until the man's path was blocked. The driver then put the vehicle in reverse and rammed the patrol car with his car, the police said.

According to police, a breath alcohol test showed the man had a blood alcohol level of 3.20. When a blood sample was subsequently taken at the station, he resisted and was slightly injured.

When the traffic accident was recorded, it was also noticed that the man did not have a valid driving license. He is now being investigated on suspicion of being a road traffic hazard, driving without a license and resisting law enforcement officers.
