And I was incredibly happy that on the set I would have to sing and dance, I love it. But I, who grew up in Sochi, learned to skate from scratch,” she told the Kinopoisk portal.
The film was directed by debutant in full-length feature films Yuri Khmelnitsky. The script for the film was written by Andrey Zolotarev together with Aksinya Borisova, Oleg Malovichko and Alexander Anryushchenko.
"Recipe for Love" (La passion de Dodin Bouffant)
French director of Vietnamese origin Tran Anh Hung (“Norwegian Wood”, “Eternity”) was recognized as best director at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 for his new work.
The plot of the melodrama is built around a pair of gifted chefs, whose creations can delight even true gourmets. Against the backdrop of work that has long united the characters of Juliette Binoche and Benoit Magimel, the couple's romantic relationship unfolds. Despite the fact that Dodin has long been in love with Eugenie and wants to marry her, she refuses over and over again, because she values her freedom very much. When the heroine falls ill, Doden takes care of her with tenderness.
According to Juliette Binoche, the film shows the relationships of people who have lost touch with nature, the earth and its gifts.
“People today often order food home... They don't have a direct connection with what they eat. They buy ready-made food and do not feel what they actually receive from the planet, do not feel all the bounty of the earth. You plant something, provide it with light, water - and you get a return. And I think this film is about our relationship with the essence of life—namely, our relationship with the earth and what we get out of it,” Binoche told Deadline.
The film's freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes is 99% (while the audience rating is only 44%). The plot is based on the book by writer Marcel Rouffe La vie et la Passion de Dodin-Bouffant, Gourmet (“The Life and Passion of Dodin Bouffant, the Gourmet”).
In an interview with RogerEbert.com, the director said that he dedicated the film to his wife, who has supported him throughout his career.
“This is an extremely personal film. It's actually about me and my wife. The inspiration for this story was her. That's why it's dedicated to her. I think in this film I show my life with her in a certain way,” said Tran Anh Hung.
The film was nominated for an Oscar from France.
"Secret Attraction"
The plot of the dramatic melodrama centers on the young actress Veta, who strives to achieve success in her profession. The course master helps the girl in making her dreams come true. One day, a new acquaintance, director Roman, offers her a role in the production of Anna Karenina. Gradually delving into her work, the heroine is faced with deep-seated trauma associated with her father leaving the family, as well as betrayals that could cost her her career.
The premiere of “Secret Attraction” took place at the 45th Moscow International Film Festival in April 2023. The director of the film was Stasya Tolstaya, for whom the film became her debut in a full-length feature film.
“The first film is a whole life. The first statement in which you put all of yourself, without a trace, you give everything that has accumulated in you until the first day of shooting. "One Life"
The biographical drama is based on the true story of Nicholas Winton, who saved 669 Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Prague before the outbreak of World War II. The main role was played by Anthony Hopkins. The film also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Martha Keller, Jonathan Pryce and Johnny Flynn, who played young Winton.
In the film, Hopkins' character reminisces and is tormented by the fact that he failed to save all the Jewish children.

Attempts to accommodate the four-legged one will not be successful, but it is he who will return joy to the heroine’s life.
A review on the portal film.moviezone.cz notes that the authors of the film consciously decided not to burden the audience with intense and overly dramatic scenes - hence the light narrative. And the plot is quite transparent, but this does not in the least interfere with the perception of the romantic comedy.
