An eleven-year-old is said to have driven a car through Westerstede in Lower Saxony - with his father in the passenger seat. A walker reported on Saturday afternoon that the car was apparently being driven by a child, the police said.

The officer who answered the call remembered a similar tip from the past and researched the alleged address. A patrol visited them and interviewed witnesses. Meanwhile, the car drove up - but now driven by the 53-year-old owner. The child was sitting unsecured in the back seat. The 53-year-old rejected the allegations.

Boy expects “educational and explanatory conversation”

However, according to police, interviews revealed that this was probably not the first such incident. According to the information, the father often drives the first few meters and then lets his son drive. A seat cushion is intended to make the boy appear taller. The officers found the seat cushion in the car.
