As many as 10,837 visa-free persons from the two countries entered and exited through the Shanghai Pudong International Airport port, accounting for 90% of the total number of passengers traveling between the two countries. At the same time, Shanghai Pudong International Airport also welcomed more than 870 Singaporean passengers who entered the country visa-free, 9 times the number in the same period last year, mainly for tourism and visiting relatives and friends during the Spring Festival.

  According to the mutual visa exemption agreement between China and Singapore, ordinary passport holders from both sides can enter the other country without a visa to engage in tourism, family visits, business and other private affairs, and their stay shall not exceed 30 days. This provides more convenience for travelers between the two countries.

Pudong International Airport port data shows that Singapore’s outbound travel popularity has increased from the top eight last year to the top three this year.

  So far, China has concluded mutual visa exemption agreements covering different passport types with 157 countries, reached agreements or arrangements on simplified visa procedures with 44 countries, and achieved comprehensive mutual visa exemption with 22 countries, including Singapore. In addition, more than 60 countries and regions offer visa-free or visa-on-arrival convenience to Chinese citizens.
