Two young people are said to have shot a 19-year-old in the head with a blank gun in Porta Westfalica near Bielefeld. Rescue workers took the seriously injured victim to a hospital. There is currently no danger to the life of the 19-year-old, as the police announced on Sunday. The homicide squad is investigating.

According to current findings, the two young people, aged 16 and 17, each pointed the gun at the 19-year-old in a park on Saturday evening and hit him in the head area from a short distance. They then fled immediately. A witness informed the police, who were able to temporarily arrest the two young people near the crime scene. A blank gun was recovered from one of the suspects, it said.

According to the information, on Sunday afternoon an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant against the two young people for grievous bodily harm.
