A 43-year-old woman died in an accident in Sonneberg in Thuringia after a carnival party at a disco. According to police, the mother of four fell into a river on the way home from the club on Sunday night for unknown reasons. It was only after an extensive search, in which police officers from Bavaria and a dog search team took part, that the woman's lifeless body was discovered in the river on Sunday morning. It was said that the woman, who lived in Sonneberg, had apparently drowned.

Police suspect the woman fell into the river from a gravel path on a relatively narrow road. Because of a brick wall and the speed of the flow, it is difficult to get out of the river, said a spokesman for the state police operations center. Several media outlets had previously reported on the accident.
