Sunday February 11, Hugo Clément announced via a video shared on his Instagram account that he was being indicted for defamation following a complaint from a well-known personality in the world of French cinema.

Hugo Clément in the sights of justice... A year after being indicted following the broadcast of his program on enclosure hunting, the journalist, a fervent defender of the animal cause, is once again in legal trouble because of of his commitment.

A complaint filed by trainer Pierre Cadeac

Sunday February 11, he announced on Instagram that he was once again indicted for defamation, this time following the complaint of a well-known personality in the world of the seventh art: Pierre Cadeac. “The famous animal trainer for French cinema filed a complaint against me for defamation because I said in a column that he was accused of having mistreated his animals,” explains Hugo Clément, facing the camera before showing a video extract in which we clearly see Pierre Cadeac hitting an eagle in the middle of a training session. “It’s okay, if putting a big potato on one of these chained birds of prey is mistreatment, pfff”, comments the journalist ironically.

“I will keep you informed of the outcome of the procedure,” says Hugo Clément. Note that an indictment is automatic in matters of defamation. “This in no way prejudges the seriousness of the complaint…” specifies the journalist, not at all intimidated by this legal action led by Pierre Cadéac.
