According to the expert, a warm front is passing along the Minsk-Kursk-Volgograd line.
“Accordingly, in the east towards Moscow there are sub-zero temperatures, and in the west there are pluses. Such a contrasting warm front will give precipitation in the form of snow and sleet with rain today in the afternoon and overnight in the Smolensk, Tver, Tula, Ryazan, Tambov, Voronezh and Moscow regions,” Tsygankov said.
He added that ice is expected in all these areas, as well as in the capital.
“There is ice in all these areas, including Moscow. Temperature 0...-2 °C. In general, bad weather this afternoon and into the night tomorrow. The same applies to the Pskov region, where sleet, rain and ice are predicted,” the forecaster concluded.
Earlier, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, said that on Saturday about two dozen records were recorded in southern Russia.
