An event was held to promote sardines, a specialty of Kanonji City in Kagawa Prefecture, which is also used in udon soup stock, and the event was crowded with people.

This event is held every year at this time by a council formed by the city's tourism association to promote Ibuki Island's sardines in Kanonji City.

At the venue, in addition to selling sardines, there was also a corner where you could try soup stock and dishes made with sardines, and the event was crowded with parents and children.

In addition to quizzes where you can learn about the fact that this sardine is processed from anchovies and how to catch it, there is also a corner where you can find shrimp, horse mackerel, etc. that are actually processed into the net when catching anchovies. The children had fun learning while having fun.

There was also a cafeteria at the venue that served rice cooked with sardines and tempura, and many people were lining up to eat.

Masakiyo Fujiwara, secretary general of the Kanonji City Tourism Association, who serves as the secretariat for the council that sponsored the conference, said, ``I would be happy if people use it for various ingredients and lead to increased consumption.''
