The specialist noted that the largest temperature anomaly is in the south of the European territory of the country.

“Yesterday brought about two dozen temperature records in the south. A 20-year-old record was broken in Krasnodar. And temperatures in a number of areas, practically from Yalta to Makhachkala, were very close, and in some places even exceeded 20 degrees. And therefore, this warm weather, very warm weather is 8-10 degrees higher than usual for this time of year, it will continue at least until the middle of next week,” Shuvalov said.

According to him, the second area with a positive temperature anomaly is the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

“In Minusinsk +10 °C. For February, this is generally a phenomenal figure. In Krasnoyarsk it was +7 °C yesterday. But here this is a short-term surge and in the near future there will be a drop in temperature,” the forecaster added.

Shuvalov also indicated that the central regions of the European part of Russia will experience weakening frost on Monday, and snow on Tuesday.

“Moreover, the snow is quite heavy in the Tula-Ryazan and Kaluga regions, and on Monday there are freezing rains in the southern half of the central federal district. But then a new anticyclone, which comes from the Kara Sea and Yamal regions, will again be pressed by cold weather in the second half of the week. From February 14 to 17, a good drop in temperature will begin in the central regions,” concluded RT’s interlocutor.
