Barricaded entrance (symbolic image): A Cologne resident had to have this experience at his place of residence

In the Rhineland there is a state of emergency at Carnival. A user of the online platform Reddit from Cologne had to experience this very directly: there was an involuntary curfew for him.

The user reports that his front door was barricaded with chipboard - probably because neighboring shop windows are also protected with wood on the great days. The protective walls are not installed by the city of Cologne, but by the respective house owners. And that went wrong in this case: the door opened, but the barricade could not be removed, the user writes. There are no other exits and the caretaker could not be reached.

Finally, the user contacted the fire department, who promptly responded to the rescue operation. The men had a good laugh and then professionally sawed the structure into pieces, writes the user. The Cologne fire department confirmed the operation upon request. Despite the state of emergency: the rescue workers in Cologne can apparently also be relied on at Carnival. Alaaf!
