impressed last night at the Sanremo Festival singing in a duet with the Italian artist
Sangiovanni,
who was competing in the 74th edition of this long-running contest and for the corresponding pass to Eurovision.
The two artists had announced their collaboration on their Instagram profiles: "I'm very excited,
thank you for inviting me
," the Barcelona singer said laughing in a video.
The two performed the Spanish version of 'Farfalle', a song with which Sangiovanni debuted in Sanremo in 2022 and which
was released in Spanish by Aitana with the title 'Mariposas'
.
"I have decided to sing the Spanish version of 'Farfalle' because in some way I wanted to recognize Aitana for what she did for me
by allowing me to take my music to another country
. I think there was no better stage than Sanremo to thank her," the singer said today in an interview on the public radio station RAI.
Sangiovanni,
21,
one of the Italian youth idols, said that Aitana is "groundbreaking" and that he expressed his desire for her voice to also reach the "Bel paese."
"Few people in Italy still know her and
I want our collaboration to have resonance
for her, especially because I hope that one day Italy can also be a market for her and that she can even sing in our language as well," said the artist.
Their performance took place during the fourth and penultimate Sanremo gala, in which the thirty artists and groups aspiring to win the contest performed other songs
with which they did not compete, in duets with other singers.
The
