In the early morning of the 9th, at the park of Shijiazhuang International Inland Port, the largest inland port in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yang Xiao, a "post-90s" railway freight clerk, and his wife Bai Yuqian were still busy. Not far away, a gantry crane is loading the container onto the car again and again, and transporting it to the inspection platform for safety inspection.

Yang Xiao, 27, is a field freight clerk at the Lincheng Sales Department of Shijiazhuang Railway Logistics Center of China Railway Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd. Wearing a thick coat and a cotton hat, he was using a flashlight to unpack and inspect containers one by one on the inspection platform.

"The main thing is to check the product name, check whether there is mixed loading, whether reinforcement is needed, whether it is unbalanced, overweight, etc." Yang Xiao said that China-Europe trains have long operation times and long distances, so loading safety is crucial. If an unbalanced load is found, the box or counterweight needs to be adjusted to ensure transportation safety. "When the train departs, another electronic inspection will be conducted through the track scale to ensure safety."

In an office dozens of meters away, Bai Yuqian, an in-house freight clerk wearing a railway uniform, was checking and entering information such as train information, cargo weight, and international intermodal waybills through the computer system one by one. On the small table by the door, there is an old thermos cup, which was a gift she gave to Yang Xiao when they were in love.

Yang Xiao and Bai Yuqian, who studied at the same university, first met at work. In 2017, Yang Xiao came here after graduating from university. In 2018, Shijiazhuang International Dry Port launched its first China-Europe freight train. In 2020, the annual number of China-Europe freight trains operating here will exceed 100. In the same year, Bai Yuqian was transferred here from other business outlets.

In the cup was hot tea that Bai Yuqian made for her husband who was working outdoors. The tea leaves were leftover from making tea eggs. When Yang Xiao was getting or delivering water cups, "sometimes I would chat with her for a few words, and sometimes I wouldn't say anything, just to see if she was tired." He added, "After returning home from get off work, my wife has to take care of her 5-month-old baby, so she always has a bad rest."

Speaking of children, the couple who got together for the interview burst into laughter. In a few hours, they can drive home after get off work and "go home together to celebrate the New Year."

This year's Spring Festival transportation is the sixth Spring Festival transportation that Yang Xiao has experienced since working, and it is also the fifth Spring Festival transportation that Bai Yuqian has experienced since working. Previously, they all had the experience of "running" to open additional passenger trains during the Spring Festival travel period. During the Spring Festival last year, Yang Xiao and Bai Yuqian ate dumplings together at work. This makes them feel satisfied after growing up in a railway family.

During the Spring Festival this year, 25 China-Europe freight trains will be sent here, and they are busier than before. Yang Xiao remembers that on January 26, the first day of Spring Festival travel, 75,078 trains departed from here, carrying daily necessities, household appliances, clothing and other materials. "That night, we were busy until about 2 o'clock in the morning."

This small family, composed of two only children born in the 1990s, did not struggle with "whose home should I go to for the New Year?" When asked about the reason, Yang Xiao said that he and his wife went to her house to celebrate the New Year after get off work because her parents could celebrate the New Year together during the Spring Festival this year. Her father-in-law, who also works in the railway system, had to go to work, and she was the only one at home. "We went back together to spend time with her," Yang Xiao said. she".

At this time, Bai Yuqian, who had been smiling at her husband, had tears shining in her eyes. (over)
