On the afternoon of the 8th, a car driven by a man in his 70s crashed through the wall of the building on the 6th floor of a multi-story parking garage in the center of Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, and came to rest with part of the car's body sticking out. There were no injuries.

Just after 2 p.m. on the 8th, a parking lot security guard called the fire department in Izumizaki, Naha City, saying that a car was about to fall from a multi-storey parking lot.

The scene was on the 6th floor of a multi-storey parking garage, and the right front part of the car had broken through the wall of the building and came to rest outside.

Fragments of the wall over 30 centimeters long fell on the street below the building, and debris was scattered on the sidewalk across the road, and traffic in the area was restricted.

According to police, the driver was a 71-year-old man, and there were no injuries to him, his wife who was sitting in the passenger seat, or anyone nearby.

Around 4 p.m., firefighters were able to pull the vehicle inside.

Police are investigating the detailed circumstances and cause of the accident.

The scene was an office district near the prefectural office and Naha City Hall, and the area was briefly in turmoil.

A woman who was walking nearby said, “When I heard the sound, I turned around and saw a car sticking out.”

A woman in her 30s who was walking on the sidewalk opposite the parking lot at the time of the accident said, ``I heard a crunching sound, like demolition work, and when I turned around, I saw a car sticking out.'' If it had gone wrong, I might have been hit by debris. I never thought something like this would happen, so it's scary."
