On the 6th, a bear broke into a warehouse in Akita City, and more than a day has passed since then. The city, together with the police and hunting association, has set up traps at the warehouse and is continuing to monitor it.

Around 11:30 a.m. on the 6th, a man working at a shipping company's warehouse in Goshono, Akita City, found a bear about 1 meter long and reported it to the police.

The entrance to the warehouse was blocked by piled up materials to be transported.

One day later, on the 7th, Akita City, together with the police and hunting club, set up box traps and cameras inside the warehouse and continued monitoring.

As of noon on the 7th, no bears had appeared for more than a day.

No one has been injured so far.

The site is about 7.5 kilometers southeast of JR Akita Station, in an area lined with distribution centers and warehouses, and a residential area nearby.

Last year, 70 people were injured in bear attacks in Akita Prefecture, the worst ever.

At this time of year, bears go into hibernation, but the number of bear sightings in the prefecture was one in January and February last year, but as of the 6th this year, there had been 16 bear sightings. It means that it is.
