The forecaster warned that pressure drops are expected in Moscow due to the fact that one cyclone leaves and another cyclone is rushing to replace it.

“Today the pressure will drop to 723-726 mmHg in the Moscow region. Tomorrow it will rise to 735, and will continue to rise on Saturday – to 747-749 mmHg,” he noted.

Ilyin also warned that snowfall would begin in Moscow in the coming hours.

“The influence of the European cyclone will have an impact. There will be heavy snow in places, with wind gusts of up to 15-17 m/s, so we cannot rule out a blizzard. The roads will remain icy. There will also be snow this coming night. In total, about 5 cm of fresh snow will fall in Moscow. In some areas from 5 to 8 cm of snow. This is mainly in the southwestern part,” the forecaster said.

Earlier, the chief specialist of the Moscow Meteorological Bureau, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, spoke about the upcoming snowstorm in the capital on February 7.
