Alarm on “Hyperspace Mountain”: At 3:16 p.m. local time, the police in Hong Kong received an emergency call. Twelve people were stuck in the ride in Disneyland. Police and fire departments dispatched dozens of emergency services to the roller coaster, which suddenly stopped in the afternoon.

There was no smoke to be seen and no people were injured. However, it took around an hour to get all passengers safely off the train.

Steep descents into the dark

Nothing is yet known about the causes of the failure. The operators have not yet commented on the incident.

On the website of the Hong Kong Disneyland company, the ride on the “Hyperspace Mountain” is described as an excursion into the Star Wars universe, where, among other things, you experience steep descents into the dark. The ride was scheduled for routine maintenance and inspection from February 26 to March 1, 2024.
