China News Service, Guangzhou, February 6 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) The charity event "Famous calligraphers and painters celebrate the Year of the Dragon by writing blessings and sending blessings" was held on February 6 at the Tianwangdian Square of Guangxiao Temple in Guangzhou. At the writing ceremony, all the calligraphers each wrote the character "dragon" on the rice paper, symbolizing prosperity in the Year of the Dragon.

  Chen Zhixiong, president of the Guangzhou Yuehai Painting and Calligraphy Institute, Li Yihao, consultant of the European Chinese Calligraphers Association, Su Baoyuan and Li Zhishu, vice-chairmen of the ASEAN-Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Federation, as well as well-known calligraphers and painters in the overseas Chinese community such as He Qiguan, Zou Weibiao and Li Shaoqi, and teachers of Guangzhou Helin Academy More than 50 people, including student representatives, participated in the event and wrote "blessings" and Spring Festival couplets for the citizens on the spot.

  A batch of personally signed calligraphy works with the word "福" sent by Ruan Yuanchun, chairman of the Indonesian Calligraphers Association, and Pan Jinling, a female artist from Macao, were sent to the public for this event, expressing the New Year blessings of Chinese calligraphy and painting artists at home and abroad to the citizens of Guangzhou.

  At the event, calligrapher Zhang Yuguo wrote the word "福" in regular script and gave it to many foreign friends, and introduced to them the custom of posting "福" on every door during the Chinese Spring Festival; calligrapher Liang Zhenggang wrote various kinds of gold inscriptions and large seal script "福" The word "福" invites those who take "福" to understand the origin of ancient characters. Calligraphers also responded to popular requests and added auspicious words and phrases such as "Auspicious Year of the Dragon" and "Peaceful country and peaceful people" on the four corners of the word "福" on diamond-shaped red paper.

  It is reported that the event will continue to be held on February 7. "The two-day event plans to write and donate 8,000 blessing characters and Spring Festival couplets to the public." Master Mingqi, head of the Guangxiao Temple office, said.

  During the event, a four-foot-long calligraphy work of the Heart Sutra created by Su Baoyuan was presented to Guangxiao Temple in Guangzhou. His classic "Wen Fu" calligraphy works have been collected by Baima Temple in Luoyang and other places. (over)
