Star chef Alfons Schuhbeck has been moved to another prison. Since Monday he has been in a branch of the Landsberg am Lech correctional facility (JVA), in Rothenfeld in Andechs, the JVA confirmed on Tuesday. “Bild” had previously reported on it. The paper also wrote that Schuhbeck was now released and was therefore allowed to leave the institution temporarily. However, the judiciary did not provide any information on this, citing personal rights. Schuhbeck's lawyers also did not comment.
In October 2022, Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in prison by the Munich I Regional Court for tax evasion amounting to millions. The prominent restaurateur took action against it, but without success.
Last August he finally had to begin his imprisonment in the Landsberg prison.
