Regarding the increase in remuneration paid to disability welfare service establishments from next fiscal year onwards, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided to focus on improving the treatment of employees in order to resolve the labor shortage.

The remuneration paid to establishments providing welfare services for people with disabilities will be reviewed every three years, and it has been decided that the total amount will be raised by 1.12% from next fiscal year.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Children and Families Agency held an expert meeting on the 6th to report on the specific remuneration, which was approved.

Among these, in the field of disability welfare, wages are low compared to other occupations, and labor shortages are an issue, so efforts will be made to improve the treatment of staff so that wages can be increased by 2.5% in the next fiscal year and 2% in the year after. We are planning to increase the compensation rate.

This revision also placed emphasis on the allocation of highly specialized human resources.

Among these, for people with ``severe behavioral disorders'' who frequently exhibit behaviors such as hurting themselves or those around them, people with specialized knowledge repeatedly visit group homes to provide guidance, etc. will be newly established.

In addition, for children with disabilities, we have assigned personnel with specialized knowledge to the Child Development Support Center, which plays a central role in the community, and works with businesses and daycare centers to provide support to children and their families. We will add new rewards if you work on it.

The new compensation for disability welfare services will be revised sequentially from April this year.

Expert: “We need to keep an eye on whether this is reflected in salaries.”

Professor Atsushi Ozawa of the University of Tsukuba, who specializes in disability welfare and serves as a member of the Expert Council, commented on the issue surrounding the treatment of employees working at establishments in the field of disability welfare. ``Compared to other industries, wages are low and labor shortages continue, so we need to keep an eye on whether the latest remuneration revisions will be reflected in the salaries of workers.'' .

Regarding the emphasis placed on the placement of specialized human resources, he praised the fact that a clear direction had been shown, and said, ``With regard to human resource development, it is difficult to acquire expertise unless you build a career in the field. There are cases where support is needed not only for the person involved, but also for the family member, and it is necessary to develop human resources who can provide such support, and these highly specialized human resources should be evaluated in terms of their treatment."
