Last month, a body was found with signs of strangulation on the shore of Lake Biwa in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture.The body was identified as a 55-year-old company manager living in Aichi Prefecture. Police arrested two men and women in their 40s and 20s on the 6th on suspicion of withdrawing cash from the man's bank account, and are investigating the incident.

On the 16th of last month, the body of a man with strangulation marks was found on the shore of Lake Biwa in Maki-cho, Omihachiman City, and the police believe that someone killed him and then abandoned him, and they are investigating this as a murder case.



According to the police, a subsequent investigation confirmed that the deceased was Masami Niwa (age 55 at the time), who ran a real estate company in Ama City, Aichi Prefecture.



Police also suspect Toru Kato (45), a company employee living in Aichi Prefecture, and Ichihashi, a store clerk, on suspicion of theft for allegedly withdrawing 500,000 yen in cash from Niwa's bank account without permission. Two suspects, Yui (27), were arrested.



Police are not disclosing the identity of the two men, citing a hindrance to the investigation.



Police will investigate Niwa's relationship with the two men and the circumstances surrounding her death.
