“Air masses will move from the southwest, they are saturated with moisture. In addition, on the eastern periphery there is a very large, sharp drop in pressure. This will lead to heavy precipitation and increased winds. Snowfall is expected to be heavy tomorrow, but it won't be everywhere. Its duration is estimated from 7 to 12 hours. But during this time, from 7 to 10 mm will fall. In some areas of the Moscow region there could be even 12 mm,” the forecaster said.

He noted that the amount of predicted precipitation is enormous.

“Because this is a very intense snowfall in such a short period of time. I don’t want to talk about records, whether it’s half a millimeter more or less, it doesn’t matter. But this is really a very serious snowfall, especially since it will fall in a short period of time. And given that wind gusts of up to 15-17 m/s are predicted, this means that there will be a snowstorm,” added RT’s interlocutor.

Earlier, weather forecaster at the Meteo-TV forecast center, Alexander Ilyin, warned of an increase in atmospheric pressure over the weekend.
