The Narita Airport Company, which has a plan to consolidate Narita Airport's currently three passenger terminals into one in the future, has proposed creating a new station to connect to the new terminal.

At Narita Airport, plans are underway to construct a third runway C and extend runway B, aiming for the end of March 2029, and a significant increase in the number of passengers is expected.



For this reason, the Narita Airport Company is proceeding with discussions in meetings involving surrounding local governments, the national government, and experts, and is developing a plan to gradually consolidate the current three passenger terminals into one to improve convenience and efficiency. At a meeting held in Tokyo on the 6th, the Narita Airport Company announced that of the two stations currently used for rail access, Narita Airport Station, which connects to Terminal 1, will be abolished in the future. , presented a plan to create a new station that would connect to the new terminal, with the proposed location to the south of the current Terminal 2.



The new terminal will have a total floor area of ​​1 million square meters to 1.2 million square meters, which is slightly larger than the current three terminals combined, and the number of parking lots with boarding bridges will be 100, about 30 more than the current number. We also proposed a plan to limit the amount to a certain extent.

The meeting plans to consider the future of the cargo area and compile recommendations by the summer, and Narita Airport Company President Akihiko Tamura said, ``We would like to proceed with further consideration with related organizations based on the recommendations.'' ”.
