The announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' ``Household Budget Survey'' is becoming a familiar occurrence around this time every year.

Ramen and gyoza tend to get a lot of attention, but we actually researched 503 items.

For example, Shizuoka city ranks first for ``tuna,'' Kagoshima city ranks first for ``shochu,'' and Aomori city ranks first for ``hot springs.''

I see.

On the other hand, Hamamatsu City is the city that spends the most on rice, Aomori City spends the most on beer (a drink after a bath?), and Saitama City spends the most on clothes and beauty.

The household budget survey reveals a different picture of the region than the ``No. 1 in Japan'' seen from the production area.

A quick look at the number one spent on food

What kind of foods other than ``ramen'' and ``gyoza'' are being surveyed, and which municipality ranks first?

I've summarized just a few of them here.

Rice fan? Bread fan?

Let's take a closer look at "food".

First of all, it's the staple food.

“Rice” type? Or are you a “bread” person? Let's look at the data.

Hamamatsu City ranked first in the amount spent on rice at 26,724 yen, followed by Fukushima City at 25,752 yen, and Shizuoka City at 3rd place at 25,433 yen.

It can be seen that there are many rice lovers in Shizuoka Prefecture.

On the other hand, for "bread", Kobe City came in first place with 41,183 yen, Wakayama City came in second place with 39,397 yen, and Otsu City came in third place with 39,342 yen.

I eat a lot of meat...

Next is meat.

Natto is not “that municipality”…

Mito City is famous for ``natto'', but what about the consumption amount?

First place was Morioka City with 6,810 yen, second place was Akita City with 6,539 yen, and third place was Mito City with 6,450 yen.

And "apple".

On the other hand, rewards are being prepared for the households that cooperated.

For example, for households with two or more people, the national government sets a maximum amount of 21,000 yen for six months of cooperation, and prefectures are free to choose items.

When interviewed by NHK, most local governments decided to transfer cash up to 21,000 yen after deducting the amount for the month they were unable to respond, while Hokkaido sent gift certificates that can be used nationwide, and Saitama prefecture sent Quo cards. .

Furthermore, Tokyo sends items such as curry, noodles, rice, and jelly every month.
