  Lin Ruitao is the foreman of the communication vehicle maintenance area of ​​the Guangzhou Wireless Maintenance Workshop of the Guangzhou Communication Section of Guangzhou Railway Group. After 44 years in the industry, he still communicates the precautions for the day's work before starting work every day. He knew that the co-workers were already familiar with the repetitive content, but he knew very well that every small detail of the communication station was of great importance to the safety of train operation, so he could not afford to be careless.

  The communication vehicle-mounted maintenance work area is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 500 miniaturized and standard communication radios for ordinary speed and "Green Giant" Fuxing locomotives, 500 built-in and external 800M communication radios, and 60 rail car radios. The task of the work area is to "prescribe the right medicine" to ensure the safe operation of the locomotive when a "disease" occurs in the equipment.

  Lin Ruitao needs to inspect every aspect of equipment installation and use: from the cab, machine room, to the roof, as small as screws and modules, as large as the main unit, antenna feeder, etc., no one can be ignored.

  The height from the bottom of the car to the roof is almost 5 meters. Due to the heavy snowfall in Hunan a while ago, in order to prevent the antenna performance from being affected, Lin Ruitao and his co-workers fastened their seat belts, put on their helmets, and slowly climbed onto the roof of the car with a socket wrench. Check carefully whether the multi-band antenna is damaged or falling off.

  The workers in the car also carried tools and performed their duties. Some lifted the floor, some installed the host machine weighing dozens of kilograms, and some straightened the cables one by one and tied them to the iron frame. Lin Ruitao said that when the locomotive is started, operations are strictly prohibited according to the requirements, and the work can only be done when the locomotive is stopped. Workers joked that they were "playing hide and seek" with the equipment.

  Locomotive communication radio stations are closely related to train driving safety, and the maintenance quality of communication workers is related to the smooth flow of transportation arteries. On the way back, at 11:30, Lin Ruitao discovered that the MMI buttons of several cars were worn. Without upgrading the data in January, he recorded in detail the equipment that needed to be corrected.

  Based on many years of experience, he summarized the six-character working method of "asking, watching, listening, testing, analyzing and trying".
