As the Spring Festival approaches, passengers are boarding the trains returning home. During the Spring Festival travel period, trains are like a "mobile society" with complex people and confined spaces. As the guardians of the "mobile society", the train police bear the important responsibility of maintaining the safety of trains and passengers.

The K21 train starts from Beijing West Railway Station and ends at Nanning Railway Station. It spans six provinces and regions and runs through the north-south line of China. The total distance is 2,500 kilometers. It is the transportation choice for many passengers returning home. In the overcrowded carriage, Zhang Qiucai and Duan Yueqiang, two police officers from the Liuzhou Public Security Division of the Nanning Railway Public Security Bureau, often walked sideways and shuttled back and forth in the carriage.

On the train, a carriage is 26.6 meters long and a train has 18 cars. It takes at least 40 minutes to go back and forth. The two of them were sweating profusely after frequent inspections. "The trains are packed with people during the New Year and festivals. It's just like this that makes it more festive." Zhang Qiucai said.

Zhang Qiucai, 53, has been a police officer for 29 years and a criminal police officer for 27 years. He has 11 years of rich experience in "anti-pocketing" work. After being transferred from the criminal police detachment to the police detachment in June 2023, Zhang Qiucai quickly changed his identity and adapted to his new position.

Zhang Qiucai often jokes with his colleagues, saying that although he is a "veteran", he is a "novice" in police work. During the six months since he boarded the bus, Zhang Qiucai used his professional talents to help many passengers find their lost luggage and solve their problems in a timely manner. He received more than 30 letters of thanks and 4 banners.

Zhang Qiucai remembered that in October 2023, a passenger wrote in a thank-you letter to them: "I admire the two police officers for not ignoring minor troubles, so I would like to express my gratitude." At that time, due to the missing luggage and It’s not expensive, and the passenger has given up. But Zhang Qiucai and Duan Yueqiang didn't think it was a trivial matter. They took the trouble and finally found the wrong luggage.

Duan Yueqiang, the police officer who partners with Zhang Qiucai, has worked in the grassroots police station for 13 years before. He was transferred to the police detachment in September last year and has rich grassroots work experience.

After several months of practice, Duan Yueqiang summed up a set of "upper, middle and lower" inspection methods. He said that if you look at the luggage rack, if there are bags of the same color or the same style put together, you should promptly remind passengers not to take them by mistake; if you look at the people, observe whether there are any passengers drinking, and if so, pay attention and remind them in time, and remind the surroundings Avoid drunken quarrels and fights; look under the seats to see if any passengers have dropped or lost items.

Relying on the "up, middle and down" inspection method, Duan Yueqiang and Zhang Qiucai can often quickly help passengers find misplaced, misplaced or forgotten luggage, and "extinguish" conflicts between passengers before they arise, so the two Arguments among passengers rarely occur on trains where partners are on duty.

On the train in the early morning, the two police officers, whose combined age was almost a hundred years old, looked more energetic than anyone else. "It is our unshirkable responsibility to solve the urgent and anxious 'pain' of passengers and allow happy passengers to embark on a safe journey home." Duan Yueqiang said.

At 16:40 on February 4, the K21 train arrived at Liuzhou Station. Zhang Qiucai, Duan Yueqiang and two other colleagues who came to take over completed the shift handover and returned to the team with their suitcases. The other two police officers will continue to travel between Nanning and Beijing with the mission of protecting the safety of passenger trains. (over)
