With entrance exam season in full swing, long-blooming carnations grown by farmers in Maebashi City are gaining popularity as an auspicious gift that "blooms with smiles without falling off."

For about 10 years now, farmer Akimasa Hoshino of Maebashi City has been growing carnations, which he calls ``support flowers,'' every year during the entrance exam season.

These carnations are grown over time in agricultural greenhouses without the use of heating to ensure that the flowers bloom for a long time, and are given as gifts to test takers all over the country, with the idea that ``smiles will bloom without falling.'' It is shipped to.

Orders are accepted through florists and the internet, and on a busy day, about 1,000 pots are shipped, and each pot is sold at florists for around 1,500 to 2,000 yen.

Mr. Hoshino said, ``Many people purchase these flowers to express their feelings of support through flowers.Just like the carnations that work hard to bloom in the cold, I hope all the examinees do their best.''

This carnation will be shipped until the end of this month.
