The Lunar New Year is approaching, and over the past few days, special events have been held in many places across the country to welcome the New Year.

In Jizhou District, Hengshui, Hebei Province, walking into the studio of clothing and paper-cutting artist Li Na, a large-scale "Chinese red" dragon pattern Hanfu paper-cutting costume, which took half a month to make, about 5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, was displayed on the model. The work is made of flocked cloth, which perfectly combines traditional paper-cutting art with Chinese-style cheongsam, cleverly incorporates "dragon elements", and is decorated with patterns such as auspicious clouds, phoenixes, and lotus flowers.

In Sanchong Village, Lijiaping Town, Qiyang, Yongzhou, Hunan, villagers used bamboo tubes instead of clay pots and jars to create a unique bamboo tube banquet, recalling memories of childhood customs and retaining a strong flavor of the year.

In Sichuan, Sichuan University held a fun New Year orientation garden party for students staying on campus during the 2024 winter vacation. There is a New Year's food area at the event site. While tasting various delicacies, students can also participate in making sugar blowers, making dumplings, painting sugar paintings and other delicacies.

In the "Tongzi Memory" style street in Tongzi County, Guizhou Province, Long Jiacai, the third generation inheritor of the county's intangible cultural heritage sugar paintings, goes out to the stall early every day, prepares tools, boils syrup, and demonstrates sugar painting making techniques on marble drawing boards. Yao Debo, the inheritor of the "Tongzi Clay Whistle" making technique of Tongzi County's intangible cultural heritage, is busy making a batch of "Dragon Baby" New Year clay whistles.

In Nanhu Park in Changchun City, Jilin Province, a 35-meter-long ice sculpture dragon "lying in the lake" attracts attention. It is reported that this ice sculpture dragon took three ice sculpture workers three days to make.
