After trial, the court found that the father of the defendant Yang Gongxun and the father of Yang Mouguo (the victim, died at the age of 47) were distant cousins. In January 2018, the two parties had a dispute over the boundary of the vegetable garden in front of the house and fought each other. After mediation, Both parties reached a settlement. Later, Yang Gongxun's father was hospitalized for surgery due to coronary heart disease. Yang Gongxun blamed the previous dispute and regretted the settlement. During this period, the local community secretary Bai Mouji (the victim, died at the age of 47) and other relevant personnel organized mediation many times. Yang Gongxun regretted it after receiving part of the mediation money, and the conflict between the two parties was not completely resolved. Coupled with the changes in his marriage and the deterioration of his financial situation, Yang Gongxun became resentful and planned revenge.
From about 7:50 to 8:20 on January 19, 2023, Yang Gongxun used machete chops, driving collisions and other means in Pingyang County, killing the victims Bai Mouji, Chen Moulv (the age of death was 66 years old), and Yang Mou Six people, Ying (died at the age of 78), Chen Moulian (died at the age of 73), Yang Moujiu, and Wang Mouyu (died at the age of 70), died and Yang Mouyan was slightly injured. On the way to commit the crime, Yang Gongxun threatened and robbed Chen's car with a knife. Later Yang Gongxun surrendered.
The Wenzhou Intermediate People's Court held that the defendant Yang Gongxun deliberately and illegally deprived others of their lives, causing 6 deaths and 1 minor injury, and his behavior constituted the crime of intentional homicide; he robbed other people's vehicles by threatening with a knife, and his behavior constituted the crime of robbery and should be prosecuted. Several crimes shall be punished simultaneously. Yang Gongxun had a determined intention to commit murder, his criminal methods were particularly cruel, the circumstances were particularly abominable, and his crime was extremely serious and should be severely punished in accordance with the law. Although Yang Gongxun surrendered, his use of extreme violence to vent his anger and revenge, killing innocent people, the elderly and the weak, is not tolerated by the law. Considering the facts, nature, circumstances and harm to society of his crime, it is not enough to give him a lighter punishment. Therefore, the above judgment is made in accordance with the law.
