The Children's and Family Affairs Agency and other agencies investigated how to calculate the number of cases in which children were consulted and responded to by child consultation centers last year due to abuse by their parents, etc., and found that cases that were determined to be ``not abuse'' were also included. It has been discovered that 20 local governments may have made inappropriate reports that did not comply with the national guidelines.

The national government is asking these local governments to correct the number of cases reported, and the published numbers are expected to decrease.

The Children and Family Affairs Agency and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare conducted a survey of 78 local governments, including prefectures and ordinance-designated cities, regarding the number of abuse consultations handled by child guidance centers last year, and found that 20 local governments complied with the national entry guidelines. It turned out that I may have made an inappropriate report.

Among these, there were 10 local governments that reported cases that were determined at a meeting within the child guidance center to be ``not considered abuse,'' as well as cases that had been dealt with continuously since the previous fiscal year. There were also four local governments that reported this.

The Children and Family Affairs Agency is asking these local governments to confirm whether they need to correct the number of cases they have already reported, and if corrections become necessary, they will reflect them in the final figures that will be published in the future. is.

We are also requesting confirmation whether there is any need to make any corrections to the number of child abuse cases handled before FY2021, and we will make corrections to the numbers if necessary.

Regarding child abuse, the number of cases handled by child consultation centers nationwide last fiscal year was 219,170 according to preliminary figures, which has been breaking new records every year, but it is expected that the published numbers will decrease.
