The foreign guy in front of the camera is named Victor, from Honduras. In March 2023, China and Honduras officially established diplomatic relations. In July of that year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that after the establishment of diplomatic relations, China promised to accept all Honduran students studying in Taiwan to study on the mainland. The first batch of 26 Honduran students successfully started a new study abroad life in Beijing, Tianjin, Xi'an and other places. Victor and other students studied at Northwestern Polytechnical University.
February 2nd is the Little New Year in the north. In order to allow international students on campus to experience the authentic Chinese New Year, Northwestern Polytechnical University held Spring Festival cultural themed activities. At the event, Victor and other international students learned about Chinese folk customs and legends through games such as "Draw and Guess". By making traditional handicrafts and tasting candied haws and other snacks, I felt the joyful atmosphere of the Spring Festival.
Picking up the brush with his right hand and lightly dipping it in ink, Victor began his calligraphy creation. "Congratulations on the New Year," "Congratulations on getting rich," and "Bamboo for peace." Among the many calligraphy works he wrote, Victor's favorite is the word "福" because it represents happiness and good luck. In order to seek good luck, Victor ended up writing a lot of "福" (福).
Victor said that during his time in Xi'an, he quickly integrated into the life here. Whether it was local snacks or scenic spots, they all left a deep impression on him. During the Spring Festival this year, he plans to "check in" at Xi'an Bell Tower, Tang Dynasty Evernight City and other places to experience the strong Chinese New Year flavor. At the same time, he will also promote Chinese Spring Festival culture to friends around the world through the Internet.
