Some believed that the restaurant that opened in Karak Governorate - southern Jordan - and was called "October 7" came in commemoration of the day on which the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) launched its attack on the towns surrounding Gaza, in the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood.

But politicians in Israel criticized this step taken by the Jordanian citizen, and called for an end to what they called the “disgraceful glorification” of the events of October 7. Opposition leader Yair Lapid described this matter as shameful in a tweet on his account on the “X” platform, calling on the government to Jordanians condemned this matter publicly.

Denunciations, statements, and television seminars also continued in Israel discussing the “shawarma sandwich,” which shook Israel.

On the other hand, the people of Karak condemned Lapid’s statement, and Jordanian politicians and party elites considered it interference in the affairs of their country.

After the controversy sparked by his restaurant, “October 7,” the Jordanian owner of the shop responded in a funny and light way, saying that October 7 is the date for his daughter’s graduation from university.

Although the relevant government authorities removed the restaurant’s sign, several Arab institutions and companies adopted this name and similar names such as “Flood Al-Aqsa” and “Abu Ubaida.”
