Spark plugs are important parts installed on the engine. They usually have very high requirements on materials and manufacturing processes and are considered "consumable parts". Spark plugs from some big brands are favored by consumers because of their good quality. As a result, some criminals have set their sights on these brand spark plugs. Recently, the Pudong Public Security Bureau of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau successfully uncovered a case of selling goods with counterfeit registered trademarks, involving a total amount of more than 1.8 million yuan.

In early December 2023, the Economic Investigation Detachment of the Pudong Public Security Bureau received a report from the client of the spark plug brand, saying that a merchant was selling car spark plugs with counterfeit registered relevant brand trademarks on the shopping platform. After learning about the situation, the Economic Investigation Detachment immediately launched an investigation together with the Jinqiao Police Station. After obtaining the samples, they commissioned relevant testing agencies to conduct comparative identification of the spark plugs and determined that the spark plugs were indeed counterfeit goods.

The Economic Investigation Detachment immediately organized the police to conduct a rigorous investigation. By collecting information on counterfeit shops on the shopping platform, the police dug out the online merchants Hua and Hua who were hiding behind the scenes. After continuous tracing, the police further discovered that the places of shipment of these counterfeit spark plugs all came from two warehouses in Guangzhou, and the owners of the warehouses were Hua and Hua. After grasping the criminal evidence of the suspects Hua and Hua, the police quickly locked in their scope of activities. On December 13, 2023, the police rushed to Guangzhou non-stop. With the cooperation of the local police, they successfully arrested Hua and Hua, and seized a total of more than 60,000 counterfeit brand car spark plugs in their respective warehouses, with the amount involved in the case reaching more than 1.8 million yuan.

After investigation, the suspects Hua and Hua discovered that customers attach great importance to spark plug brands and the high demand for spark plugs in the process of selling auto parts. They accidentally discovered that there were counterfeit brands of spark plugs for sale online, so they took action. He purchased a large number of counterfeit spark plugs from the Internet at low prices, stored them in his own warehouse, and sold them under the name of branded spark plugs to make huge profits.

At present, two criminal suspects, Hua and Hua, have been subject to criminal coercive measures in accordance with the law on suspicion of selling goods with counterfeit registered trademarks. Pudong police will conduct further investigation into the source of counterfeit production and sale.
