China News Service, February 1. According to the website of the Ministry of Public Security, recently, the Ministry of Public Security organized and directed public security agencies in Hubei and Guangdong to successfully recover four abducted children from Hubei in Wang Haowen's series of abduction cases. On February 1, the Hubei Public Security Bureau organized a family recognition event in Huanggang. Four groups of families were finally reunited after 21 years of separation.

From April to June 2014, three cases of child abduction and trafficking occurred in Yilong County of Nanchong City, Pengxi County of Suining City, and Tongjiang County of Bazhong City in Sichuan Province. A total of three children were abducted. After the case occurred, the Ministry of Public Security attached great importance to it and listed it as a case under ministry supervision for investigation. According to the deployment, the Sichuan Public Security Bureau quickly formed the "4.26" task force and fully carried out investigation and rescue work. On July 31, 2014, six criminal suspects including Wang Haowen were arrested one after another, and three abducted children were successfully rescued. As the task force conducted a thorough investigation, it was discovered that Wang Haowen was suspected of abducting 10 other Sichuan children from 2008 to 2010. Subsequently, the public security organs continued to organize and carry out a large number of investigations and visits, persisted in analyzing and judging relevant clues, and made every effort to find the abducted children. With the continuous improvement of investigation methods and technical conditions, from 2019 to 2020, Sichuan public security organs successively successfully recovered 8 of the above 10 abducted children from Sichuan.

In 2020, when the Hubei Huanggang Public Security Bureau was tackling the backlog of child trafficking cases, it was discovered through technical comparison that the suspect "Wang Wei" in the "3.28" case and the "4.26" case suspect Wang Haowen were the same person. It is reported that the suspect in the "March 28" case of the Ministry of Education trafficked 11 children from Huanggang, Huangshi, Xianning, Jingzhou and other places in Hubei Province from 2002 to 2003. Among them, a 6-year-old child was not bribed because of his strong cognitive ability. The suspect abandoned him at Yangxin Railway Station in Huangshi City and was later found by the public security organs. The whereabouts of the remaining 10 abducted children from Hubei are unknown. In order to make every effort to solve the case and find the abducted children, the Ministry of Public Security quickly deployed the public security agencies of Sichuan and Hubei to combine the two cases for investigation. In line with the concept of "never withdraw from abducted children until they are recovered for a day," the public security organs comprehensively collected information, constantly innovated tactics, and concentrated resources on case investigation. From 2020 to 2021, 6 children were recovered in Guangdong. Abducted children from Hubei. On December 26, 2023, the public security organs of Hubei and Guangdong once again recovered the last four abducted children from Hubei through technical comparison. So far, a total of 22 abducted children have been recovered in Wang Haowen's series of child trafficking cases. The criminal suspect Wang Haowen was sentenced to death in the first instance. The case is currently in the second instance.

In order to help four abducted children from Hubei reunite with their families, the Hubei Public Security Bureau organized a family identification event in Huanggang on February 1. At the event, witnessed by the police, mass representatives and the news media, four children who had been abducted for 21 years and their biological parents cried with joy and hugged each other tightly. The words of reunion and the joy of reunion infected everyone present. Another warm applause, the whole event was full of warm and touching atmosphere, and it also conveyed confidence and strength to separated families who are still looking for their relatives.

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Public Security said that in recent years, as the public security organs have continuously increased their crackdown efforts, the current annual number of child theft cases has dropped to single digits, and all of them have been quickly detected and solved. Regarding the backlog of child abduction and trafficking cases, the public security organs will continue to crack down on the cases, attack hard, and investigate thoroughly to the end. They will never let go of every suspect of abduction and trafficking, and will never give up searching for every abducted child. We hope that all sectors of society will continue to support and participate in the anti-trafficking work, and that the police and the public will join hands and work together to bring more abducted children home as soon as possible, so that separated families can realize their dream of reunion as soon as possible.
