The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the shooting of an Israeli officer by a member of the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - was a deliberate targeting, and shows the fundamental difference between resistance snipers and occupation army snipers.

Al Jazeera broadcast scenes of battles between the Al-Qassam Brigades and the Israeli occupation army in the Tal Al-Hawa and Sheikh Radwan neighborhoods in the western Gaza Strip, including the moment when Al-Qassam sniped an Israeli officer during the battles, his fall to the ground, and the rest of the soldiers escaping.

Al-Duwairi explained in an analysis for Al-Jazeera that the sniping operation took place with a penetrating shot, and was carried out in a thoughtful manner, as the sniper spotted 3 soldiers, and chose among them to target the officer, who was able to distinguish him by giving instructions and orders to the soldiers accompanying him.

The military expert pointed out that this shows the excellence of the Qassami fighter and his understanding of the laws of war and the foundations on which they are built, and it also reflects the great moral difference between him and the snipers of the Israeli occupation army.

In this context, Al-Duwairi pointed out that the sniper in the occupation army targets any moving object, and therefore does not exclude anyone, and most of his victims are civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, while the Qassam sniper is keen to be selective and aim qualitatively by targeting an officer from among the military.

The military expert believes that the recent Al-Qassam clips carry a clear message that - 118 days after the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip and talk of moving to the third phase - the resistance is still effective and influential, and that Israeli society must know that its army cannot obtain any field victory.

During the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, the Al-Qassam Brigades continued to document their operations against the occupation army, such as targeting soldiers, tanks and military vehicles with anti-personnel shells, armor and fortifications, ambushes, sniper operations and booby-trapping tunnels in the areas into which the occupation penetrated.

Al-Duwairi stated that, more than two and a half weeks ago, the Al-Qassam Brigades were able to rebuild the organizational structure of the Khan Yunis and Al-Shamal brigades and activate their combat readiness, with an average of 12 battalions, each with a strength between 850 and 1,250 fighters, which was confirmed by the battles of the Al-Tuffah, Al-Shuja’iya and Al-Daraj neighborhoods that took place. last week.

Regarding the change in fighting in the north, Al-Duwairi pointed out that the defensive battle changed with the change in the form of fighting there after the humanitarian truce. After its management was based on the process of repelling and fighting behind enemy lines, the fighting became more decentralized, and adopted the method of monitoring and luring.
