On January 2, a Japan Coast Guard aircraft that was on the runway at Haneda Airport collided with a Japan Airlines passenger plane that had landed and burst into flames. Five coast guard officers were killed and one was seriously injured. , 15 passengers on the plane sought medical attention.



In this accident, the national fire department at Haneda Airport was engaged in extinguishing fires on both planes, and interviews with the fire department revealed that the fire had spread from near the left engine of Japan Airlines. Ta.



For this reason, at the beginning of the accident, all three fire engines that extinguished the JAL fire continued to spray water onto the left wing.



After that, the entire torso was burnt away.



It was also learned that at around 5:52 p.m., five minutes after the accident occurred, the fire department began guiding passengers who had escaped from Japan Airlines to leave the area.



At the time, the fire was spreading, so they called out to the passengers who were staying at the front of the aircraft.



In the end, all 379 passengers and crew aboard Japan Airlines were evacuated.



The National Transportation Safety Board is also conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances under which the plane caught fire and the circumstances leading up to the evacuation of the passengers and crew.
