The sudden heavy rain caused serious damage to Yanhekou Village. All the village homesteads were soaked by floods, suffered from silt backflow, and the roads were damaged. In September of the same year, after fully soliciting villagers' opinions, Mentougou District decided to implement overall off-site resettlement for Yanhekou Village. After precise surveying and analysis, it was finally determined that an area 60 meters away from the old village and 280 meters away from the farthest point would be the new site for the off-site resettlement of Yanhekou Village.

At noon that day, Jin Weihua, Party Secretary of Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District, and his colleagues handed the keys to the villagers. Jin Weihua told reporters that the resettlement project covers a total area of approximately 4.65 hectares, with a total construction area of approximately 14,400 square meters, and will accommodate 96 farmhouse households. The new house is a two-story building with five types of units: 120 square meters, 140 square meters, 160 square meters, 170 square meters and 180 square meters, which can meet the diverse needs of villagers.

According to reports, the new houses in this project are all prefabricated modular houses. “Our town and village cadres worked together to carry out post-disaster reconstruction, household promotion and other work. They also went to Wuqing area of Tianjin City to visit and learn about the production process and components of prefabricated modular houses. We specially invited national outstanding engineers to combine the village’s Future planning and design were carried out, and a district-level village-based working team was also dispatched to follow up on all aspects of the project. Through the joint efforts of the construction parties, the project was finally delivered within 60 days," Jin Weihua said.

The relevant person in charge of the company said that prefabricated housing is a relatively new construction method, including foundations and houses, all of which are built by the factory. Unified production, with characteristics such as earthquake resistance, solidity, and waterproofing. Compared with traditional construction techniques, the construction time of prefabricated housing is greatly shortened, and it can also overcome the constraints of winter construction.

The team also overcame difficulties such as low temperatures in mountainous areas and snowfall during construction, and successfully completed the installation of 96 box-type houses in only 41 days.

Jin Weihua took the reporter to a new house at random. The reporter saw that the exterior of the house was mainly blue and gray, simple and elegant. Gently push the courtyard door open, the small courtyard is clean and spacious, and you can follow the flat stone road to the spacious and bright living room.

Tang Xiaoyu, the owner of the house, told reporters that there are three people in her family. Considering that there are many relatives and friends and a large demand for accommodation, she chose a 170-square-meter apartment. She was pleasantly surprised when she saw the completed house and was very satisfied with the layout and exterior decoration of the house. Tang Xiaoyu also contacted the decoration company early and customized the furniture. "I hope I can have a happy reunion dinner in my new house during the Spring Festival this year." After saying that, Tang Xiaoyu hung the Chinese knot decoration with the words "Xianglong Xianrui" on the door of the living room.

It is reported that in addition to meeting the resettlement needs of the entire village of Yanhekou Village, the project will also simultaneously construct public service facilities such as a village committee, a comprehensive cultural station, a fitness venue, a canteen, and an activity room for the elderly.

The reporter came to a high ground and looked at the new homes of the villagers in Yanhekou Village. They saw the distant mountains shrouded in clouds and the well-proportioned courtyard walls reflecting each other, just like a traditional Chinese freehand ink painting. In the not-too-distant future, the rising wind will Cooking smoke will definitely make the village more vibrant.

“After reconstruction, Yanhekou Village will make full use of the surrounding ancient Great Wall ruins and Yongding River cultural resources to develop the cultural tourism industry. The design of the houses fully reserves space for villagers to operate B&Bs. Citizens can come to Yanhekou Village Experience the artistic conception of 'gazing at the stars under the walnut trees and enjoying the mountain scenery in the stone village'. I believe that in the future, Yanhekou Village will also become the first 'poetry and painting village' model village to be resettled in Mentougou District." Jin Weihua said with confidence said.
