China News Service, Shanghai, January 31 (Reporter Chen Jing) On the 31st, due to the influence of warm and humid airflow, the air in Shanghai was humid, rainy and foggy. Affected by rain and fog, on the 31st, the normal entry and exit order of international sailing ships in Shanghai's main port areas was affected to varying degrees. As of press time today, 13 international sailing ships in various jurisdictions of Wusong Border Inspection Station have canceled or changed their entry and exit plans due to heavy fog. More than 50 ships were affected at Waigaoqiao Port.

At 8 pm on the 30th, all terminals of Yangshan Deepwater Port implemented entry and exit control measures. Currently, a total of 13 international sailing ships have changed their entry and exit (port) plans due to the heavy fog, delaying berthing or sailing. Wusong Border Inspection Station told reporters that from midnight yesterday to this morning, there was fog in most areas. Due to the heavy fog, the visibility at the wharf under the jurisdiction of Wusong Border Inspection Station was less than 500 meters, and the visibility in some areas was less than 100 meters. Heavy fog combined with rainy days caused the terminal operations to be very slow. Many foreign ships in the port were stranded, berthing plans were delayed, and cargo loading and unloading were seriously hindered. At Wusong Port, the Marshall Islands-registered "Saro Spirit" canceled its original berthing plan at 06:00 on January 31 and changed it to berth at Luojing Pier at 07:30 on February 1; the Togolese-registered "Yahe" International ships that originally planned to leave the country such as the Marshall Islands-registered Maria and the Marshall Islands-registered ship canceled their plans to leave the country at 05:30 on January 31 due to heavy fog, and waited for the fog to improve before leaving their berths. The Marshall Islands-registered "Ms. Gwendolyn" and the Chinese-registered "Meihua Hai" also had to cancel their original sailing plans due to tight anchorage on the river. They are currently anchoring at Baobei anchorage and waiting for the weather to improve before heading downstairs. One port.

On the same day, the reporter saw at the Luojing Phase II Terminal that the visibility on the river was very low, and international ships and operating cranes were obscured by thick white fog. In response to situations such as heavy fog causing ships to be stranded and port docking plans to be canceled, the border inspection department quickly launched a severe weather emergency plan. Wusong Border Inspection Station stated that the station has strengthened information communication, maintained close contact with various aspects such as maritime affairs in the terminal port area, accurately grasped changes in plans for ships entering and leaving the port, and kept an eye on the dynamics of ships at anchorages to prepare for response; strengthened monitoring of ladder entrances, etc. Monitoring and inspection of terminal personnel and vehicles effectively prevent risks and hazards. Yangshan Border Inspection Station stated that it will pay close attention to the dynamics of ships and terminal operations, and scientifically deploy police forces to ensure orderly and smooth customs clearance.

Relevant border inspection stations have reasonably deployed police forces to cope with the peak arrival and departure of ships after heavy fog, ensuring that customs clearance procedures for ships and entry-exit personnel can be handled efficiently and smoothly, and minimizing the economic losses caused by ships stranded in ports due to bad weather.
