Because he claims 57 years of activism and was twice mayor of Dakar, from 2009 to 2018, Khalifa Sall, the leader of the Taxawu Senegal platform, says he is certain of qualifying for the second round of the next presidential election. “Everyone knows that there will be a second round, that’s the reality of the moment, and I know that I will be there,” he told RFI and France 24 in an interview given in Saint-Louis du Senegal. And who does he think will be his opponent in the second round? “I don't care who I have in front of me.” Asked about his strained relations, within the opposition, with Ousmane Sonko, Khalifa Sall affirms that there is no break, but that everyone follows his way. “Last June, I agreed to go to the national dialogue initiated by President Macky Sall, because I believe in political dialogue. I even agreed to talk when I was in prison. »To the question: “Do you hope to attract voters who were orphaned by Karim Wade? », Khalifa Sall replies: “You must not behave like a scavenger. We stand in solidarity with Karim and, for the moment, we support him in his fight to integrate the electoral system.”
