Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., whose plants have been suspended due to issues with fraudulent acquisition of national certification, has decided to resume production of two commercial vehicle models on February 12th. Production of 12 models, including the main model Tanto, will be suspended until at least March 1st.

Daihatsu Motor Corporation has suspended operations at its four automobile factories in Japan since late December due to issues with fraudulent acquisition of national certification.

Under these circumstances, the company has confirmed that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has confirmed compliance with the standards and lifted the order to suspend shipments of

commercial vehicles, including

Toyota's Probox and

Mazda's Familia Vans.

We have decided to resume production of these two models at our Kyoto Plant on February 12th.

Furthermore, on the 30th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism lifted the suspension of shipments for

10 vehicle models produced at Daihatsu Kyushu's Oita Plant , including

the mainstay commercial vehicle Hijet and

light passenger vehicle Mira eS.

The company aims to resume production after February 19th.

Meanwhile, the company has decided to suspend production of 12 models, including its mainstay Tanto, until at least March 1, and there are no plans to resume production.

Amid concerns about the long-term impact on the local economy where it has many business partners, including subcontractors, Daihatsu is working with parts manufacturers and other parties to restart production for vehicle models for which orders to suspend shipments have been lifted. We are planning to make adjustments as soon as possible.
