The average effective job openings-to-applicants ratio for the past year was 1.31 times, exceeding the previous year for the second consecutive year due to the recovery of economic activity from the coronavirus pandemic. However, the situation remains low compared to 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said, ``There is a movement to reduce the number of job openings in the manufacturing and construction industries due to soaring raw material costs, and we are paying close attention.'' It's necessary.''

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, last year, the number of job offers submitted by companies to Hello Work was 2,496,503 per month, an increase of 0.9% from the previous year, while the number of people seeking work was 1,909,647 per month on average. It decreased by 1.4% from the previous year.

As a result, last year's average effective job openings-to-applicants ratio, which indicates how many job offers are available for each person looking for a job, was 1.31 times, 0.03 points higher than the previous year.

Last year's effective job openings-to-applicants ratio rose for the second consecutive year due to the recovery of economic activity from the coronavirus pandemic, but it remains at a lower level than the 1.60 times in 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said, ``While there is a movement to increase the number of job openings in the accommodation and food service industries, there is a movement to reduce the number of job openings in the manufacturing and construction industries due to rising raw material costs. We need to pay close attention to the recovery status of the economy and the impact of soaring prices."
