After four people were attacked and injured by a wild boar in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture on the 28th, police and the city conducted patrols on the morning of the 29th, coinciding with school hours at an elementary school near the site.

Patrols were carried out around Akihira Elementary School in Honjo City, and the police and city government issued a warning during the school hours, saying, ``If you see a wild boar, please do not approach it.''



School staff members were also out on the school route to watch the group go to school, and some children were seen being dropped off to school by car driven by their parents.



On the morning of the 28th, a total of four people were injured near an elementary school, including an 81-year-old man whose leg was bitten by a wild boar.



According to the city, no wild boar has been captured, and there have been no sightings since the morning of the 28th.



Police and the city continue to patrol the area and ask people who see wild boars not to approach them.



A parent who dropped off a fourth-grader in his car said, ``I've never heard of people being attacked by wild boars before, so I'm scared.''

Mamoru Nakata, principal of Akihira Elementary School, said, ``The safety of the children is paramount, so we are considering having staff accompany the children to and from school for a while.''
