After a “corrective procedure” due to an enlarged prostate, King Charles III. discharged by attending physicians at a private clinic in London. The British head of state was released on Monday after a planned procedure, Buckingham Palace announced. He postponed some public appointments in order to recover privately.

"His Majesty would like to thank the medical team and everyone who supported his visit to the hospital and is grateful for all the kind messages he has received over the past few days," the statement continued. The king underwent a procedure for benign prostate enlargement at the London Clinic on Friday.

The 75-year-old monarch had been treated at the same facility as his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales. He had decided to make the nature of his symptoms public in order to encourage other men to have regular prostate check-ups.

The good news comes shortly after the Princess of Wales was released from the hospital. Prince William's wife had abdominal surgery on January 16th. The exact causes of her illness are not known. Her recovery is making “good progress,” it was said from Kensington Palace. The 42-year-old has nevertheless canceled her official engagements until after Easter.
