On February 1, the KION online cinema will launch the series “Sergius against the evil spirits. Yaga" is the third and final season of the fantasy project about a former priest who, after being removed from the church, became a hunter of evil spirits. The roles are played by Roman Mayakin, Irina Rozanova, Lukerya Ilyashenko, Elena Podkaminskaya, Dmitry Kulichkov and others.

The first episode of the third season, subtitled “Yaga,” begins where the story left off earlier. In the finale of the second season, Father Sergius, Katya and Auntie realize that one of them is becoming evil, since the portal to the world of ghouls and other dark forces can only be opened by the same creature. At the beginning of the third season, it turns out that Katya, who is about to turn into a Chimera, has not willingly joined the side of evil. Only living water, which is kept by Baba Yaga, can return the girl to her human form. To save his beloved, Sergius is ready to do anything: he gets to the old woman and, sacrificing his desires, body and principles, makes a very delicate deal with her.

Katya is saved, but her relationship with Sergius, which cannot begin in any way, deteriorates when the girl finds out what her lover went to and what price he has to pay in the future - after all, the cunning Yaga achieves her goal by any means.

At the same time, the heroes continue to save peaceful people from folklore evil spirits, not suspecting what problems the old sorceress will present them with.

Yaga has two appearances in the series - a frightening old one, which is a familiar image from fairy tales for the viewer, and a young, seductive one, which the heroine wears like a mask. Instead of a stupa, Yaga has a red sports car, and she sells medicine to evil spirits.

The role of Yaga in her young guise was talentedly performed by Elena Podkaminskaya. The actress did a great job of getting used to the role of a cunning villain who knows her worth and achieves everything she wants.

Roman Mayakin in the image of Sergius once again delights the audience with his charisma, and Lukerya Ilyashenko this time even managed to visit the slimy skin of the Chimera and coped well with the task of the anti-hero.

Based on the two episodes provided to journalists for viewing, it is difficult to understand how well the plot of the third season was developed. However, it is worth noting that the beginning of the new story is intriguing, and the cheerful narrative does not let you get bored. It immediately becomes clear that in the continuation the authors of the series focus on matters of the heart, and the fight against evil becomes a secondary problem. Actually, the new main enemy appears because of Sergius’ love for Katya.

In the film, Russian folklore is interestingly integrated into the modern world: Yaga, for example, has her own business, and, like a woman, she longs to be desired even without a young and attractive mask.

In addition, the living water here is truly “living” - it has a face (male, by the way), consciousness and voice. Viewers can laugh at the dialogues between the magic liquid and Sergius, as the former does not skimp on sarcastic comments and ironic remarks towards the latter.

The humor in the first two episodes and overall everything is great. Sergius still does not deprive himself of the pleasure of making a joke even in the most seemingly inappropriate situations. For example, when the hero tries to catch the Chimera in order to give her a life-giving injection, he not only manages to miss blows from her, but also has time to compliment Katya in a new image. Fans can expect a lot of funny jokes from other characters, as well as some truly ridiculous situations that lift the mood when watching.

The beginning of the third season turned out to be promising and positively encouraging. After watching two episodes, viewers will most likely want to know what awaits the heroes next. There are minor drawbacks in the graphics - some characters, gray wolves, for example, look too unnatural. However, this does not affect the overall impression, especially considering the excellent makeup of the key characters - the old Yaga and the Chimera.

Fans of the adventures of Sergius and Katya will probably be satisfied with the ending, especially if the subsequent episodes and the ending are completed at the same level in terms of the quality of plot development.
