The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the success of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in launching a missile salvo from the southern Gaza Strip on the 115th day since the start of the aggression on Gaza, is extraordinary, and an indication that the Al-Qassam staff is still... Adhere to the command and control system.

The Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they were bombing Tel Aviv and other cities with a missile barrage, in response to the Israeli massacres against civilians - according to their statement - while sirens were heard, prompting the Israelis to take shelter in shelters.

Al-Jazeera's correspondent reported that the Al-Qassam Brigades fired the missile barrage towards Israeli towns from the south of the Gaza Strip. Al-Jazeera's correspondent said that sirens sounded in the skies of Tel Aviv and the surrounding areas, and that the sounds of violent explosions were heard in the city as a result of air interceptions.

Commenting on this attack during an analysis by Al Jazeera, Al-Duwairi believes that the moral dimension is more important than the material impact. “These missiles may be intercepted or fall in open areas, but the message they carry to the various parties in the occupying state is the most important factor.”

Confirm effectiveness

According to Al-Duwairi, this message carries the resistance’s confirmation of its continued ability to fire missiles from the hottest areas in Gaza to a range that reaches even the center of occupied Palestine, which means its ability to continue fighting and maintain effective missile stocks.

It also proves to the Israeli community that their Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lied about eliminating Hamas’ military capabilities, as rockets are still being fired from Gaza City and the southern Gaza Strip, despite the intensity of the fierce battles there.

Al-Duwairi pointed out that Gaza City - from which one estimate indicated that the bomb was launched - is besieged by 80% of the occupation army forces, which confirms the importance and strength of this message.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that Israeli air defenses intercepted at least 12 missiles after sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and its suburbs. The same source also reported that cars in Rishon LeZion, south of Tel Aviv, were hit by a missile fired from the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the withdrawal of 3 brigades from Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip during the recent period, Al-Duwairi believes that this is due to several considerations, the first of which is the loss of much of their strength or a significant decline in their combat capabilities, in addition to considering the need for them in other areas of the Gaza Strip and repositioning them again.

Yesterday evening, Sunday, the occupation army withdrew two brigades from the area, because it was unable to employ the force with which it sent (8 brigades) there in the correct manner, according to the assessment of the military expert.

Al-Duwairi pointed out that the occupation has been talking during the past hours about killing 4,000 Palestinian fighters in the western Khan Yunis area, which is inconsistent with the course of events on the ground, as he believes that if this number of resistance members were killed, it would limit its influence on the ground.

In this context, the military expert pointed out that the occupation’s talk about this exaggerated number of dead resistance members could not be proven by the video clips it displays, as they did not include the bodies of any of these dead, nor did another party appear in them during the clashes.
