In October, pay-TV broadcaster Sky released a five-part "Sky Original Reality documentary" with perfume video blogger Jeremy Fragrance. In »Jeremy Fragrance - Power, Baby«, the influencer, who was born in Oldenburg in 1989 and whose real name is Daniel Schütz, was accompanied to his grandmother in Krakow as he was looking for an apartment in Miami, at the perfume test in Grasse. But it also addressed an appearance at the »Online Marketing Rockstars« (OMR) festival, where he triggered a sexism scandal.

But now, photos that the social media star had published on his Instagram story have led Sky to clearly distance itself from Jeremy Fragrance. The Insta photos with personalities from the right-wing extremist scene were apparently taken on the sidelines of an event of the far-right New York Young Republicans Club, where Donald Trump spoke as the keynote speaker.

In the pictures, Fragrance posed with Alexander Kleine, who calls himself Alex Malenki, one of the best-known activists of the right-wing extremist "Identitarian Movement," as well as with David Bendels, publisher and editor-in-chief of the "Deutschlandkurier." In other words, the newspaper that was made available to the AfD thousands of times free of charge in the election campaign years of 2017 and 2018 – it was illegal party financing, the party had to pay money back to the Bundestag administration.

"We clearly distance ourselves from any right-wing extremist content or statements," a Sky spokesman said on Monday morning in response to a SPIEGEL inquiry. "We will remove the reality documentary ›Jeremy Fragrance – Power, Baby!‹ from all our offerings by tomorrow." A continuation of the format and further cooperation were not planned anyway, the broadcaster's statement continues.

"Promoting Christian Values"

In addition to the two German right-wing extremists, Jeremy Fragrance also posed with the Austrian right-wing populist Gerald Grosz, who was a guest speaker at the AfD's political Ash Wednesday this year. He commented on this picture to the »Business Insider« . At the time of the photo, he did not know what Grosz stood for, it says. The politician had asked him for a photo, he always takes photos with people who are sympathetic. He has not yet responded to a SPIEGEL inquiry about the other photos.

Aldi Nord, for whose baked goods Jeremy Fragrance had appeared in a commercial at the beginning of the year, had already distanced itself from the influencer after his chauvinistic statements at OMR. Jeremy Fragrance has millions of followers on his social media channels. The content creator tests perfumes in his videos, sniffs out other people's scents and gives lifestyle tips. His exalted manner also aroused the interest of a wider public, so he was a contestant in the Sat.2022 show "Promi Big Brother" in 1.

In November, Jeremy Fragrance had already made political ambitions public. In a TikTok video, he said he had the idea of becoming chancellor. "I would bring Christian values to the forefront," he said, "à la CDU." A strong middle should support "the lower people with a social safety net". "The super-rich should not be too decadent."
