In an interview with our colleagues at "Gala" on Wednesday, November 22, Thomas Dutronc gave very worrying news about his mother Françoise Hardy, who is suffering from pharyngeal cancer. According to him, the 79-year-old singer doesn't "really fight" against death anymore.

Françoise Hardy is really not well... In an interview with Gala on Wednesday, November 22, her son Thomas Dutronc opened up about the health of the singer, who has been suffering from cancer of the lymphatic system since 2004 and then cancer of the pharynx since 2019.

"His state of suffering is hard to see"

"Mom is not well. Her life has become so painful that we sometimes wonder if it wouldn't have been better to let her go, when she came close to death, eight years ago...", revealed the singer, very worried about his mother who, according to him, has lost the desire to fight against the disease: "Her health problems are serious, But she doesn't really struggle anymore. She doesn't allow herself any little pleasures anymore, she doesn't want to take certain medications anymore, because she doesn't salivate well." Thomas Dutronc tried to get Françoise Hardy to go out to take her mind off things, but to no avail... The singer refused to come and see him and his father, Jacques Dutronc, on stage.

"She repeats, 'I can't.' We had offered her to attend rehearsals, since she no longer travels to concerts, but she declined. His state of suffering is hard to see...", confided Thomas Dutronc, totally powerless in the face of this situation. Françoise Hardy's morale remains at an all-time low, despite visits from her son, who is always by her side to comfort her.

"Sometimes I wish I could leave in my sleep"

A few weeks ago, Jacques Dutronc told Le Parisien that his wife Françoise Hardy was hard to treat. "The problem is that the people who treat this disease don't care about the side effects at all," he said. The singer said last July that she wanted to die: "My life has become so difficult that sometimes I wish I could leave while I was sleeping."
