The first decade of September will be marked by the arrival of cool weather in Moscow, meteorologists said in a conversation with RT.
The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, stated that on September 2, the temperature in the capital dropped.
"The frontal section is suitable, the sky is covered with clouds. And, of course, the energy that the sun's rays transmitted to the surface layer of the atmosphere should not be expected. Therefore, after yesterday's super-summer weather, when the temperature background corresponded not just to summer, but to the warmest period of July, any decrease in temperature will be considered a strong cooling," Vilfand said.
According to him, today and tomorrow the air will warm up to +20 ... + 22 ° C, there will be light rain.
"On Monday and Tuesday, significant precipitation is not expected, it is also predicted +20 ... + 22 ° C. In general, the temperature until Tuesday inclusive will be above normal by two to three degrees. On Wednesday, the circulation of air masses will change. A low-pressure trough is approaching, so the pressure will drop sharply on Wednesday and Thursday night. Rain is also forecast for Wednesday. The passage of a hollow with a frontal section will be followed by a noticeable decrease in temperature. On Wednesday, the temperature is still about normal + 17 ... + 19 ° C, and on Thursday and Friday it is already below normal - + 12 ... + 17 ° C. According to preliminary calculations, significant precipitation will not follow the cold front, "he stressed.

Anatoly Tsygankov, Deputy Head of the Situation Center of Roshydromet, also noted that the final days of August turned out to be warm in summer, but today, September 2, changes are taking place.
"Today, cloudiness and short-term rain have appeared. That is, the weather has changed, we are slowly getting cold. The beginning of the coming week will be relatively warm, but by Thursday-Friday it will be cold and the temperature will be below normal," he said.
Speaking more specifically about the temperature background, the weather forecaster pointed out that today the air will warm up to +20 ... + 22 ° C, it will be cloudy with clearings, rain in places. At the same time, on the night of Sunday, September 3, light rain is also possible in places, the temperature is + 12 ... + 14 ° C. During the day, partly cloudy and short-term rains are predicted, the thermometers will rise to + 21 ... + 23 ° C.
According to him, the new week from September 4 to 10 will begin without precipitation.
"Monday will be good in principle, partly cloudy without precipitation. The temperature is +20 ... + 22 ° C with a cool northwest wind. On Tuesday night + 8 ... + 10 ° C, and in the afternoon + 21 ... + 23 ° C. Light rain is possible in places. And then there will be a cold snap. On Wednesday night, partly cloudy without precipitation, + 11 ... + 16 ° C. On Wednesday afternoon it is cloudy, there may be light rain. The wind is northwest, the temperature is +16 ... + 21 ° C. Nights on Thursday and Friday will be the coldest this week + 6 ... + 11 ° C with partly cloudy and no precipitation. In the afternoon on Thursday and Friday + 12 ... + 17 ° C. No precipitation, northwest wind. Warming will probably go after September 11. And until the 10th-11th, the temperature will be below normal," he stressed.
Results of the summer
Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, summed up the results of the three summer months of 2023 in his Telegram channel.
According to him, in Central Russia, the summer was unstable - with a moderate June (temperature below normal by 0.5 ° C, 92% of precipitation fell), "a failure in cold rains in July" (the temperature was 2.1 ° C below normal, 180% of precipitation fell), and a truly summer August (2.1 ° C above normal, the precipitation shortfall was 20%).
He noted that the average summer temperature was close to normal, but still exceeded the meteorological statistics by 0.3 ° C. At the same time, the amount of precipitation was 18% higher than the climatic norm.
"In Moscow, out of 92 days of the summer calendar, rains of varying duration and intensity were observed for 33 days, which is 35% of the entire calendar. Summer 2023 has not become outstanding in the annals of the weather, but it will ensure a smooth transition to the change of climatic seasons," the meteorologist explained.
